Incident: Pedestrian Killed in Motor Vehicle Crash
Location: Suffolk Avenue, East of Lowell Avenue, Central Islip

Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in Central Islip this morning.

 

A man was crossing Suffolk Avenue, east of Lowell Avenue, when he was struck by a 2011 Toyota Tacoma traveling eastbound on Suffolk Avenue at 6:08 a.m.

 

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. His identity is being withheld pending notification of kin. The driver of the Toyota, Michael Torres, 41, of East Walnut Street, Central Islip, was uninjured.

 

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call Third Squad Detectives at 631-854-8352.
