Suffolk County Police rescued a dog that was trapped in an apartment fire in Coram this evening.

Suffolk County Police Sixth Precinct officers responded to a 911 call reporting a child trapped in an apartment that was on fire at 67 Pinewoods Crescent at approximately 6:50 p.m. Upon arriving on scene, officers Anthony Martuccio and Justin Dimatteo learned all of the occupants of the home had safely exited, but the family dog was trapped in the upstairs apartment. The officers, joined by a Good Samaritan, entered the apartment complex, located the American Bulldog mix, and helped corral the animal so the Good Samaritan could take the dog to safety.
