Incident: Man Arrested for Robbing East Islip Convenience Store
Location: 7-Eleven, located at 2 East Main St., East Islip
Date/Time: Friday, March 20, 2020 at approximately 2:20 a.m.

Suffolk County Police today arrested a man for robbing an East Islip convenience store early this morning.


A man entered 7-Eleven, located at 2 East Main St., at approximately 2:20 a.m., displayed a knife and demanded cash. The suspect stole cash and cigarettes.


Third Precinct police officers responded to a 911 call regarding the robbery and Officer Christopher Calderone located the suspect, Maxwell Purdy, nearby and arrested him.  


Third Squad detectives charged Purdy, 19, of East Islip, with Robbery 1st Degree. He was scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip today.     



A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
