Incident: Man Shot Inside IHOP Restaurant
Location: 339 Portion Road, Lake Ronkonkoma
Date/Time: Monday, March 4, 2019 at approximately 1:25 p.m.

Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad Detectives are investigating an incident in which a man was shot in Lake Ronkonkoma yesterday afternoon.

Suffolk County Police responded to 911 calls reporting shots fired at IHOP, located at 339 Portion Road, at approximately 1:25 p.m. Deontrae Green shot Tyriek Corbin while both were inside the restaurant. Police quickly located and arrested Green. Corbin, 20, of Amityville, fled the scene, but was later located at Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Green, 19, of Islandia, was charged with Assault 1st Degree, Criminal Use of a Firearm 1st Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree.  He is being held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip in the morning.

Detectives believe the incident was not random, but was the result of an internal dispute between members of the Bloods gang. Detectives are investigating whether the incident is related to two shootings that took place in Coram yesterday afternoon.

The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Fourth Squad at (631) 854-8452, or anonymously to Crime stoppers at (800) 220-TIPS.
