Incident: Pedestrian Killed in Motor Vehicle Crash
Location: Route 25, east of William Floyd Parkway, Ridge

Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in Ridge last night.

 

Michael Leithe was driving a 2012 Kia Sorento westbound on Route 25, east of William Floyd Parkway, when the vehicle struck an adult male in the roadway at approximately 12:30 a.m. The victim, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. Leithe, 34, of Ridge, was not injured.

 

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.
