Incident: Man Shot and Killed after Swinging Sword in Store
Location: Port Jeff Liquors, 156 E Main St #1, Port Jefferson
Date/Time: Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 2:23 p.m.
 
 

Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the shooting death of man in Port Jefferson this afternoon.

 

Sixth Precinct officers responded to Port Jeff Liquors, located at 156 E. Main St., #1 after a clerk at the store called 911at 2:23 p.m., stating he shot a man who came into the store swinging a sword. After an investigation by Homicide Squad detectives it was determined, Theodore Scoville, 50, entered the store, swung a samurai sword three times before the clerk shot him. Scoville was pronounced dead in the store.
