Incident: Man Arrested for Sex Trafficking

Suffolk County Police yesterday arrested a Deer Park man for sex trafficking.


Following a three-month investigation by the Human Trafficking Unit, detectives determined Abiodum Adeleke forced and kept women in prostitution by violence, threat of violence, damage to personal property, and providing narcotics drugs in and around Suffolk County. He utilized local motels and hotels. He is a confirmed member of the Bloods street gang.


Adeleke, 32, of 85 Tiber Ave., Deer Park, was arrested at the Holiday Inn, located at 215 Sunnyside Blvd. in Plainview and charged with four counts of Sex Trafficking, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, and three active warrants for three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree. Adeleke is being held overnight at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled for arraignment this morning at First District Court in Central Islip.


The investigation is continuing. The Human Trafficking Investigations Unit is requesting any additional victims or witnesses who wish to cooperate to contact them at 1-800-220-TIPS.


A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
