Incident: Man Arrested for Burglarizing Church and Residence

Suffolk County Police last night arrested a man for burglary after a Patchogue resident called 911 to report someone trespassing on his property on Wilmarth Avenue.


Fifth Precinct officers responded to the scene and found Bruce Roman squatting in a boat on the property and recovered tools and a BB gun that had been stolen from the resident’s garage. Upon questioning, Roman admitted to also burglarizing Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, located at 495 North Ocean Ave., North Patchogue on July 16.


Fifth Squad detectives charged Bruce Roman, 28, undomiciled, with two counts of Burglary 3rd Degree. He is being held overnight at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on August 1. 



A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
