Incident: Ducklings Rescued from Storm Drain
Location: Rear of Our Lady of Grace Church, 666 Albin Ave., West Babylon
Date/Time: Sunday, May 10, 2020 at approximately 5:15 p.m.
 
 

Suffolk County Police officers rescued a family of ducklings that had fallen into a storm drain in West Babylon tonight.

 

First Precinct officers responded to the rear of Our Lady of Grace Church, located at 666 Albin Ave., at approximately 5:15 p.m. after a 911 caller reported ducklings had fallen into a storm drain. The officers notified the Emergency Service Section.

 

Police Officer Mark Collins, from the Emergency Service Section scooped out the ducklings using a large net. The 7 ducklings were reunited with their mother, who was waiting close by. One duckling appeared to be injured and was taken to a local animal hospital for treatment.
