Incident: 4-Year-Old Girl Seriously Injured in Motor Vehicle Crash
Location: Intersection of Broadway and East Smith Street, North Amityville
Date/Time: Wednesday, March 24 at 11:45 p.m.
 
 

Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a child in North Amityville last night.

 

David Hernandez-Martinez was driving southbound on Broadway with his sister and her daughter in a 2005 Toyota Prius. The vehicle was stopped at a red light at the intersection of West Smith Street when it was rear-ended by a 2009 Infiniti, being driven by Cheresse Myers, at 11:45 p.m.

 

Alexandra Ceron-Hernandez, 4, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries. David Hernandez-Martinez, 29, and Karen Hernandez-Gomez, 21, both of Amityville, and Myers, 37, of Brooklyn, were transported to the same hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

 

The vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
