Incident: Two Men Arrested For Engaging in Criminal Sex Acts With a 15-Year-Old Child
Location: Fourth Precinct, 727 Veterans Memorial Highway, Hauppauge, New York
Date/Time: Monday, December 4, 2017

Suffolk County Police today arrested two men who engaged in sexual acts with a 15-year-old male.

On November 11, administrators from a local high school notified Suffolk Police officers about a 15-year-old male student having sexual relations with two older men he met on the website Grindr.com. A thorough investigation was conducted and police discovered the identity of the adult males, both of whom were aware that the victim was only 15 years old.

This afternoon, Fourth Squad detectives arrested Alexander Cottrell and William Reinhardt. Cottrell, 29, of Carpenter Lane, Hauppauge, NY, was charged with two counts of Criminal Sexual Act 3rd Degree and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child for engaging in criminal sexual acts on two separate occasions with the victim in the last two months. Reinhardt, 53, of Udalia Road, West Islip, NY, was charged with two counts of Criminal Sexual Act 3rd Degree and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child for engaging in criminal sexual acts on two separate occasions with the victim this past summer.

Cottrell and Reinhardt will be held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and are scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on December 5.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
